Car accident on Shepherd's Bush Green: Air ambulance called

A man was hit by a car and airlifted to hospital from the Green last night in what was a worrying sight for the many of you who got in touch to find out what was going on. The first thing to say is that it was not, as several of you feared, fatal.

Here's what the Police have told me this morning both about the accident and also the road closures that were in place for a couple of hours:

"Officers were called at approximately 21:33hrs to Shepherds Bush Green, W12 to reports of a collision involving a Blue honda vehicle and a male.

London Ambulance Service were on scene. HEMS (air ambulance) were called and arrived at 21:55hrs. The male was taken by HEMS to hospital.

The males injuries are believed to be non life threatening or changing.

The roads were re opened at 00:52hrs.

No arrests".
