Councillor Antony Lillis, who has represented a Fulham ward on Hammermsith & Fulham Council for two decades, died this week just weeks after being diagnosed with a virulent form of cancer. Tributes have been paid by those, on all sides of the political spectrum, who knew him.
Although I didn't know Cllr Lillis I seem to lose at least one person that I know somehow per year to this horrendous disease. I'm going to be running the London Marathon next year for Cancer Research UK as a result, and will be unashamedly using this blog to try to raise funds.
To all those who did know Antony I'm sure we all send you the best. Puts things in perspective.
Indeed. I didn't agree with Cllr Lillis often, but no one questioned his hard work & commitment. And he was involved with the QPR Community Trust.
ReplyDeleteThis must have been sudden and he was only 42, which is no age to die.
There's a book of condolences open in Hammersmith Town Hall foyer.
As you say, it makes you think.
[...] July Cllr Anthony Lillis sadly died, while on a lighter note QPR held their first family fun day which was great despite the weather [...]
