Bush primary schools rocket up tables

Shepherd's Bush primary schools are among the best in the country according to figures released last month by the Department for Education. There are just 27 primary schools in the whole country where every seven-year-old who was behind had caught up by 11. Two of these are in Shepherd's Bush - Pope John RC on the White Cite estate and Miles Coverdale down near the H&C tube.

Huge congrats to the schools and to the Council for their support of them. Both, especially Pope John, serve areas that have their problems and the fact that the kids there are doing so well is really good to see. Pope John schools' website is worth a look in its own right - that sense of optimism is obviously what the teachers and support staff are bringing to the classroom, and it's clearly making a big difference.
