The Guardian carried an article yesterday by the veteran broadcaster John Simpson, who announced he was "sick" of Shepherd's Bush, and described the BBC complex as "East German". He said he "couldn't wait" to leave but that he feared "dying" first.
Coming from the, er, heavyweight who became an international laughing stock as he pretended to "liberate" Kabul in 2001 when the Taliban fell, I think we'll not take his views of the Bush too seriously. Keep trying John. How much do we pay you, again?
I take it that he will be on the first train to Manchester - or maybe not. Mind you, didn't he liberate Baghdad as well?
