Recession Bush: Arise Askew Wine!

Some excellent news which won't come as any surprise for those readers resident on Askew Road, this shop that went into administration, is now on the verge of opening its doors again. The man in charge of the shop who faced redundancy and getting rid of all his staff has bought the shop from the administrators and is opening a new independent retailer called Askew Wine. And here it is in all its glory.

Let's hope for more of the same soon.


  1. There was a great piece on Mallek (the owner) in the Chronicle last week (if you got it)

    Mallek and his family are long-term residents of the area (19 years) and it's great to see the community backing a local independent retailer in their efforts to get a new venture off the ground. More of it, especially on Askew Road.

    Re Chronicle - I wonder what their circulation actually is nowadays as it never seems to arrive!

  3. We must all remember to actually shop there! Now, has anyone heard the rumours about the Bull and Bush being a Tesco Metro?
